About The Event

At the heart of Canada's largest urban region is the Don River. Once a year, Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) provides a unique opportunity for people to paddle the Don from Ernest Thompson Seton Park to the mouth of the River at the Keating Channel.

Paddle the Don is all about having fun, enjoying nature, and celebrating the Don River watershed. The trip also provides a time for reflection on all the benefits we derive from the natural environment - air, water, resources, recreation, and spiritual renewal - that are integral to the function of the city and the surrounding region.

The paddle is open to individual participants and corporate teams.

Paddle the Don remains a free event; however donations to regenerate the Don are encouraged. Since the pledge program began in 2002, paddlers have raised an incredible $230,000! These funds are currently being held by the Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto and will be combined with this year's donations to help fund regeneration projects in the Don watershed, as identified in the new Don River Watershed Plan - Beyond Forty Steps.

This exciting event is organized by TRCA, the Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto, the Wilderness Canoe Association and the Don Watershed Regeneration Council, along with the support of many dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors and watershed supporters.

Banrock Station Landing Party
